Task by task
Common questions.
Who can certify a copy?
An authorised person whose profession, jurisdiction and the recipient’s procedure permit it. Signeta does not grant or verify professional authority.
Is the unsigned PDF already certified?
No. It is preparation for an authorised certifier to inspect the original and complete certification on paper, including the required wet-ink signature.
Are electronic signatures accepted everywhere?
No. Confirm the exact requirements for certification, signature method and submission with the recipient. A PDF upload option does not establish acceptance of electronic certification.
Can I import PDFs for free?
Yes. Importing and previewing do not use your export allowance. Complete your professional profile before importing for certification (or select Scan Only, which needs no profile); the export allowance only applies when you share or print a professional output.
Why did my PDF import fail?
Make sure the file is available locally; a cloud provider may need a connection to download it. Try an unencrypted standard PDF of up to 20 pages and 64 MiB, with readable page geometry and room for the stamp. Password-protected files, portfolios and XFA are unsupported examples. Retry with a smaller supported file.
Which document sizes can I scan?
Camera capture provides three A4 layout presets: A4 document, standard ID card (front and back on one A4 page) and standard passport spread on A4. Because the A4 preset scales captured images to fit an A4 page, scanning a non-A4 original will resize it. To preserve non-A4 page dimensions, import an existing PDF instead, subject to the PDF compatibility and processing limits. See formats and processing limits.
Why is Scan or Import PDF disabled?
Complete the required professional profile fields before scanning or importing for certification, or select Scan Only. For scanning, allow camera access on supported hardware. If permission was denied, open the device Settings and find the app’s camera permission. Managed-device restrictions may need your administrator.
Why does the stamp not fit?
Shorten details or custom wording, or choose a suitable page. The app keeps readable text and does not shrink it indefinitely to fit. Always review the result for overlap.
Must I sign every page?
Follow the recipient’s requirements. Signeta places one block on one page and offers optional page labels. Any extra signatures, initials or blocks must be completed separately.
How do I print for wet-ink signing?
Choose Print for Wet-Ink Signing, or Share PDF for Printing to send the unsigned PDF to an appropriate destination. Check paper size, placement and scale; use Actual Size (100%) for identity layouts and inspect the paper. Compare with the original and complete certification in ink.
Why does my document remain after sharing?
The active document session stays open for review and retry until Done. Temporary export-file cleanup is separate from the working document in memory.
What does a cleanup warning mean?
A temporary export could not yet be deleted. Unlock your device if necessary and use Retry. Signeta also retries stale export cleanup at launch. Active destinations can retain access; copies saved or sent elsewhere are unaffected.
What counts as a free professional export?
A successful professional handoff in a document session counts once. Repeated output before Done is included. Preview, drawing, cancellation and failed handoffs do not use an export. Reopening in a new session can use another export.
How do I restore a purchase?
Use Settings → Restore Purchases with the purchasing Apple Account. Connect to the network and retry if verification is pending or fails. Purchased access is separate from the device-local free allowance.
Is a subscription required?
No. There are two free professional document-session exports and one optional Certifier Pro Lifetime purchase. There is no recurring subscription or automatic evaluation charge.
Where are my details stored?
Your one saved profile is in local preferences, which may be included in backups. The free-use count is in device-local Keychain storage and may survive reinstall. There is no in-app document or signature library. Copies you save outside the app follow the destination’s policies. Read about privacy.
Can support recover my scan?
Signeta has no server document archive from which to recover a scan. Check any Files location, app or other destination where you chose to save a copy.
Can I prepare documents without a connection?
Document processing happens on your device. Cloud files may need downloading, and Apple purchase, entitlement or restore checks can require an internet connection.
